Nice bike trail around the lake, about 10 miles with some elevation gain. Beautiful fall colors but because of all the pine needles following the trail markings was difficult. We came after the camping was closed for the season, but it looks like a really nice place.
This place was great! Awesome location right by the lake, spaces were spread out w/ plenty of room in between, large fire pits, and the awesome camp host couple were really nice and helpful and even gave you free firewood to enhance your stay.
The lake definitely got windy in the afternoon but it seems like a Great Lake for fishing too. Easy to navigate the campground for RVs and trailers too. I also enjoyed the 11 mile bike trail that circled the lake, the John Dellenbach Diamond Lake loop. Easier to navigate it going clockwise I feel. Definitely recommend a stay here!
Coming back from bend, my son and my daughters boyfriend had never been to diamond lake. So we stopped in to a camp ground to use the bathroom. Which the water was shut off. After someone yelled that we were there, at a closed camp ground. A camp host who looked a bit perplexed came up and asked why we were there. We explained things and the host was nice enough to point us to the only usable and unlocked bathroom. Where I proceeded to take a picture of the lake which was gorgeous.
Great campsite with plenty of spaces! Has basic bathrooms, fire pits, and a gorgeous view. If you stay, do your part and pick up your trash!
I'm the South Camp Host, would I say any different?
Nothing to complain about for the site itself or restrooms or anything, but be ready for very cold weather and lots of bugs.
A really nice and peaceful place to go to to get away for the weekend
We loved the 2 nights that we spent here! We were in site E003 and it was right on the water. The lake was beautiful to look at and so much fun to swim in. The bathrooms were nice but a bit dirty, but that was fine, it is camping after all! I would totally recommend this campground to anyone staying in the area!
